From the time when Li Siguang discovered petroleum in China, China has begun to witness a fast development of petroleum and pay more and more attention to the petrochemical industry. Since late 1950s, the petrochemical industry has been controlled by state-owned enterprises. One got an iron bowl if he or she worked with a state-owned enterprise decades ago, which adopted a succession system.
However, with the development of science and technologies, petroleum became more than a chemical product as fuel. Through refining, the diesel and gas extracted from petroleum witnessed further development and generated aviation fuel, paraffin and pitch. Later, lubricant which was produced by blending base oil and additives had become a pet of the industry and witnessed extensive application in various industries.
Lubricant was used most in automobile and industry, which was a driving force for automobiles and a convoy for engineering by moistening the dry gears. The new era has ushered in a new economic outlook. And the petrochemical industry which has kept unchanged for long has finally changed significantly.
However the economy has developed, petroleum will always be like the blood of mother, supplying nutrition to all industries and be a non-renewable resource which should be cherished and treasured by us.
